The Oinoforos winery introduced its initial wine labels with the release of the Daphnis and Chloe dry white and red wines. Inspired by the eponymous pastoral novel penned in the early 3rd century AD by Longus, the Daphnis wine incorporates local grape varieties such as Kalloniatiko, Fokiano, and Assyrtiko. Meanwhile, the Chloe wine is crafted from Mandilaria, Vapsa, and Fokiano grape varieties. Subsequent additions to their wine portfolio include Makara, featuring Kalloniatiko and Fokiano grape varieties, DOLCE KLEOPATRA with Fokiano, Kalloniatiko, and Moscato grapes, and ROSÉ KLEOPATRA containing Fokiano and Savatiano grapes.

These wines are available both in Greece and internationally, with a significant presence in the US, China, and Switzerland, offered in 750 ml and 187 ml bottles. Additionally, the winery produces bulk wines, including red dry and semi-sweet, white dry and semi-sweet, and rosé varieties, available in 5-liter and 10-liter packages, delivering outstanding quality at an affordable price point.

Oinoforos Winery adheres to classic vinification methods to craft its labels. White vinification occurs at 18°C, using red grapes from local Fokiano and Kalloniatiko varieties. Red vinification involves short or long ripening periods, dependent on grape and wine characteristics. This meticulous approach, coupled with continuous quality checks throughout the vinification process, accentuates the unique organoleptic characteristics of the local grapes and showcases the potential of Lesvos’ vineyards.

Over the years, Oinoforos Winery has earned recognition at international exhibitions and competitions, receiving prestigious accolades such as gold, silver, and bronze medals. For instance, the red Daphnis and Chloe label secured a gold prize at the California International Exhibition, while the white Daphnis and Chloe garnered a silver prize at the International Exhibition of San Diego. The latter wine was honored with a bronze prize at Shanghai’s International Exhibition.

Oinoforos Winery offers a comprehensive visitor experience, including tours of the cellar with its oak barrels and vintage vinification equipment, guided tastings of its high-quality wines, a conference area suitable for presentations and events, and a music stage for cultural performances.
